Aussie Renters response to the current pandemic created by COVID-19

In an attempt to help address the “all of a sudden” situation many of us are caught up in, we have updated our website with all the information being shared over the net, linking you each article. The Aussie Renters TERMS App was upgraded to accomodate the needs of it’s members.

To assist with approaching the owner regarding your rent payments, we have created:

  • Three new business style Letters – reduce your rent payments or waive them altogether, you put your proposition forward. If you received a notice to increase your rent payments or a notice to vacate, our letter politely objects and asks for it to be reconsidered. Any legislation referred to in the letters reflect the state you live in.
  • Rent Payment Agreement to clearly set out what your requesting and provide a piece of evidence, one that can be presented at a bank and the same one at the Tribunal proving you tried to negotiate. 
  • Comparisons Worksheet gathering comparisons to fight a rent increase notice along with instructions on locating what you need. You will need a bit of confidence with MS Word to put these together and there will be a help file (hopefully soon) to assist. Depending on it’s popularity, we may upgrade this worksheet into our TERMS App
  • Routine* Inspection reporter records your inspection of the property and a professional report is produced for the agent/landlord. You could use the Independent Routine* Inspection Report as a reference to your tenancy history, include it with your next rental application!

AppSheet are the engine behind our TERMS App. If and when installing the App, you will be asked to install AppSheet first. It is a simple process but you can use a browser too and on a mobile device. You will find the links at the bottom of Our App page along with a copy of our Help Files, the quick or full version. 

At this point, you need to know about our membership. It is offered free of charge to any renter in Australia and you need to become a member to use our service, in the future. Due to the pandemic, we are offering this document to anyone who needs it as well as products that have a fee connected to them, these will also be offered free of charge. By registering to be a member you will have access to our library of professional letters and use of the TERMS App. The details you provide at registration will merge into the document you order, however by not registering, your name, address and agent/landlord details need to be entered once you receive the document. 

We ask that you allow 24 hours for a response as we have no idea how many people will use this service. Be sure to save the document on your hard drive and feel free to change or add anything, it’s your correspondence.

Our TERMS App records everything about the rental property and if you like our letter and agreement, you may like what else we do. Everything about Aussie Renters is free to use as long as you are a tenant living in Australia. Please be aware, the Entry Inspection recorder will incur a small investment of $20 in the future but for now, it is free. When the fee is re-instated, we offer a similar package for free using our Worksheets to organise your entry pics (drag and drop into Word docs) and a simple entry letter can be ordered via our website. 

You must become a member to continue using our TERMS App, this is your acknowledgement to us providing an administration/clerical service to you. If you do not register, correspondence will not process. If you process the Entry Inspection recorder, you must log on to our secure website to place the order (using a coupon we provide) for this document to be processed. The Independent Entry Inspection Report and Letter will be uploaded to you via our secure website, not emailed. If you would like to this Inspection, please flick us a message via Messenger using our Take Action Aussie Renters Facebook page. A coupon will be sent to you to complete the order.

*all reports and letters reflect the wording used in your state e.g. in Queensland we have routine inspections while in Victoria they are general inspections.
