How much notice

In New South Wales the following notice periods are required and notice must be provided in writing:

  • Fixed term agreements – 14 days 
  • Periodic agreement – 21 days
  • Long term fixed agreement (over 2 years & rent increased within this time) – 21 days
  • Breaching the landlord – 14 days

Please note:

Frustrated = premises has become uninhabitable.

For sale = if you moved in and the landlord did not inform you the property was for sale.

Intention to Vacate Notice
