How much notice?

In Queensland the following notice periods are required and notice must be provided in writing:

  • Fixed term agreements – 14 days 
  • Periodic agreement – 14 days
  • Breaching the landlord – 14 days

Please note:

Frustrated = premises has become uninhabitable

Sale of property = within the first two months of occupation and no knowledge the property is for sale

Fixed long rent increase, Social housing and Aged care facility are not applicable in Queensland.

Intention to Vacate Notice

Please feel free to use our Intention to vacate letter and notice to notify the lessor but you must also complete, sign and provide the approved form Notice of intention to leave (form 13). Make sure you scan a copy for your electronic records.
