Entry or Exit tenancy checklists

Checklists have been put together to clearly outline what you need to action and receive when entering or exiting a property. This one paged document has checkboxes to tick when complete and the relevant legislation is linked.

The completed checklist should be scanned and stored in your Aussie Renters TERMS noting it on the master file note register. Make a note on your checklist if the landlord does not supply what is required in your state or territory with the date and your initials noted beside what action you took.

Example: you request the information sheet as it was not supplied. Soon after, you stumble across the fact that the property is for sale and the landlord did not mention a word before you signed the tenancy agreement. You have your reasons for not living in a property that is up for sale and if you take the matter to the Tribunal, the landlord may have to pay compensation.  For not disclosing this very important piece of information, your moving and cleaning costs may be awarded as compensation and the checklist has just became a valuable piece of evidence.
